LOC has started a trial program where they are offering free decals for their rocket kits. If anyone has or is building a LOC kit, log onto www.rocketsbymelissa.com and click on the Test Pilot Mission tab. There are a number of kits that are still waiting for someone to sign up for the test. There is no cost involved, all LOC asks is that you apply them, and let them know how well they work. And if possible, send a photo of the completed rocket. They know there are a few bugs, and this is how they intend to work out the problems prior to offering the decals on a routine basis.
I signed up to test a couple, and received them within 4 days. They are well printed on heavy self-stick vinyl. I ran into a problem on the 1st set, when I noticed I was short 1 fin decal. When I reported this to LOC, I was told I would have an entire new set next week.
Next test is to see how well they stick during flight. See you there. |

Saturday May 15th, during the normal TTRA monthly launch a memorial will be held for Pete Fox. Julie, Pete's better half will be in attendance. This the way Pete wanted to be remembered. It would be great to see everyone there to remember Pete. After the memorial Bob Backlinie is going to fly Pete's Patriot for a final tribute flight. |

On Saturday, May 1st TTRA provided assistance to the Girls Scouts during a mass build and launch program at a Girl Scout Camp in Riverview. Over 200 girls from 1st grade thru 8th grade worked in groups thru the day to build their own rocket, and then each girl was given the opportunity to press the button to launch their rocket. Most of these girls had never seen a model rocket, and did not have any idea of how to put one together. But they all were eager to learn, and they all completed and launched their rockets. The event coordinator stated that the girls all ranked the rocket day as the high point of the camp. |
